If you, like me, like to get in, get your shopping done, and get out, it might be worth booking a room near Union Square for a weekend to knock out your list. Three interesting new hotels within walking distance make this sound kind of fun. So, shoppers, give ’em a call:

Hotelabri_lobby Hotel Abri
Opened: in October
Where: 127 Ellis St., between the Powell Street BART station and Union Square
Rates: from $189
Good to know: Driving? AAA members get 20 percent off the best rate, plus a $25 gas card.

Goodhotel Good Hotel
Opening: today!
Where: 112 7th St. at Mission. That’s two long SOMA blocks to the Westfield shopping center
Rates: opening special rate is from $89, or $112 for the “It’s All Good” package including parking and breakfast or lunch
Good to know: Your bedframe is made of 100% reclaimed wood, and hybrids always park for free.

Hotelvertigo1_2 Hotel Vertigo
Opening: in December—hopefully
Where: 940 Sutter St., sort of Tendernob-ish and about a six-block walk from Union Square
Rates: opening special rate is from $139
Good to know: The hotel is the site of the Empire Hotel, made famous in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo.
